The aim of the person doing publicity is to ensure that the performances are well attended.

- Getting the publicity out early; a minimum of four weeks before the show!
- Getting the posters out about four weeks before the show working with the Art Director.
- Getting the show talked about. Word of mouth is the most effective advertising. Ask all cast members to promote the show.
- Distributing a few complementary tickets (in conjunction with the Committee and Producer) to strategic people.
- Finding sponsors for the programme.
- Keeping the Producer aware of all advertising done.
- Contact local media to promote the show.
- Any paid advertising is to be approved by the Committee.
